Mark Richards
Mark Richards, Senior Consultant, focuses on senior executive appointments in the Government and Defence Industry sectors.
Grounded in comprehensive management experience in a range of contexts, Mark relishes his role in assisting clients as they take their enterprise to the next level through the placement of high-calibre leadership. Based in the Melbourne office, Mark manages search and consulting assignments at Senior Management and Chief Executive level in major corporate and government organisations.
Before joining JFE, Mark’s professional experience included senior management consulting, providing advice and resources to assist clients in their development of corporate strategy and maintenance of effective governance and risk management. In this capacity Mark undertook assignments for major infrastructure operators, educational institutions, government departments and privately owned business enterprises. He had a senior role in the planning of security for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games. Prior to this, Mark held an executive role in the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance where he was responsible for the delivery of Cabinet, Parliamentary and other services to Ministers across four portfolios. Earlier, he had 20 years in the Australian Army, rising to the rank of Colonel.
Mark is a Director of a financial services company and of an institute involved in Defence and national security issues. A Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, Mark is currently completing a Master of Business in Banking and Finance at Monash University, having already completed a Master of Defence Studies at the University of Canberra in 1997.
